Waxwork Records announces the double vinyl of the original music of “Sleepy Hollow”!

Earlier this week we got a taste of the audio terror that awaits us with the upcoming asymmetric horror title from Sumo Digital and Gun Interactive. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Now, to add to that, Gun Interactive has done something a little different with the reveal of a “one-of-a-kind creative project” in Remains: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game Companion Album.

Composed by Wes Keltner & Jim Bonneythe album is described by Keltner as “a direct reflection of what Kim Henkel wrote [for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre film]influenced by the events leading up to this moment and why the Slaughter family did what they did and it’s about this town they grew up in and around.

“Wes called and asked if I’d be interested in writing music about what happened before the original. Chainsaw Massacre movie,” says Bonney. “The story of a town before its only source of income dried up. The story of a family, before being abandoned by friends or colleagues, without job prospects, alone on the family property to manage as best they knew how.

“The overall goal was to create music that was inherently diabolical, but not cartoonish. Heavy, not lacking in sensitivity, slow and menacing, but never soulless. I really enjoyed collaborating with Wes. He offered me a clear direction and motivated, and throughout the process he pushed me to create better music, but he also gave me space to experiment and leave my own mark in music.

Clarify, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre the official game soundtrack is and will be a separate entity from Remains. However, both albums will be available in full on streaming services before the game launches next year. “If you’re looking for the tunes you hear in the menus and in-game, the official soundtrack is for you. But for the listener who wants to dive deeper, who wants to hear something dark and abstract, thematic and inspired, Remains might be what you’re looking for.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre arrive at 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on Xbox and PC.
