THE LOST CITY Pinar Toprak’s film soundtrack is an exhilarating score filled with old-school Hollywood adventures

One of my favorite composers who made a splash in the movie music scene is Pinar Toprak. A collector of sheet music, whether for television or film, I am a huge fan of her and she has quickly become an active and invigorating composer in Hollywood. Toprak wrote the fantasy scores for DC’s Stargirl on The CW and SY-FY’s Superman prequel series Krypton.

Today, Variety reported: “On Sunday, she (Toprak) will take the stage at Dolby leading the Oscars orchestra for Billie Eilish’s performance of “No Time to Die.” Details on Sunday are otherwise under wraps. It’s said to be a new arrangement of the Oscar-nominated James Bond theme, and Eilish’s co-writer and brother Finneas is also set to be on stage. Toprak could not comment.

La-La Land Records and Paramount Music have released Toprak’s original music for Paramount Pictures’ action-adventure comedy THE LOST CITY, starring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Danielle Radcliffe and Brad Pitt.

The full score soundtrack is available digitally from Paramount Music starting today (March 25, 2022) and on limited edition CD at starting March 29, 2002.

The soundtrack also includes “Danza De Dos”, “Bolerito De La Isla” and “Lágrimas Sin Fin (with lyrics by David Aguilar)”, three new tracks written for the film by the Grammy-winning composer, arranger and a Latin Grammy. producer and performer, Cheche Alara.

In THE LOST CITY, brilliant but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic locations in her popular romantic adventure novels starring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, “Dash”. While on a promotional tour for her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes she can lead him to the treasure of the ancient lost city from her latest story. Wanting to prove he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of his books, Alan sets out to rescue him. Immersed in an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will have to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.

The film’s exhilarating original score bursts with full-throttle adventurous fun, action and romance. “Writing this score brought me back to why I fell in love with film scores in the first place,” says famed composer Pinar Toprak, “Adventure, romance and above all FUN. pure joy to pay homage to those classic adventure films that I loved growing up while giving them my own contemporary signature. I most sincerely hope that this score, like the ones that inspired me as a child , will also stand the test of time.
