The East County filmmaker will host the SFO Short Film Festival at the El Campanil Theater in Antioch on October 28-29

The founder of the Studentfilmsonline.com platform brings compositionetion to his hometown

East Sophia County filmmaker Rivera brings the SFO Short Film Festival to her hometown at the El Campanil Theater of Antioch in historic downtown Rivertown on October 28-29, 2022.

The festival is a LIVE event dedicated to showcasing short films created by film students, high school students, and local independent filmmakers in the Bay Area and across the United States. Studentfilmsonline.com was founded in 2011 by Rivera who wanted to give back to the community. Its mission is to encourage networking and motivate emerging filmmakers to create more content, as well as promote a career in film and talent through screenings.

Genres include: Short Drama/Action/Crime/Thriller; Short Comedy/Romance; Horror/Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Film, Documentary and Short Animation.

Submissions in the short film category include: 1) Independent Short Film 2) SFO Film Student Challenge Competition and 3) High School Short Film Competition

Short Film Category Prizes for Best Film: Independent Filmmaker Short Film Prize $300, High School Short Film Competition Prize $250, and SFO Film Student Challenge Competition Prize $500

The SFO Short Film Festival is still accepting entries until September 30, 2022.
