Pixar Animation Studios has revealed details about its 27th feature film, “Elemental,” which will be released on June 16, 2023.

Directed by Peter Sohn (“The Good Dinosaur”, short film “Partly Cloudy”) and produced by Denise Ream (“The Good Dinosaur”, “Cars 2”), the film travels alongside an unlikely couple, Ember and Wade, in a city where the inhabitants of fire, water, earth and air live together. The fiery young woman and the fast-paced man are about to discover something basic: all they actually have in common.

“Elemental” is an original film inspired by Sohn’s childhood in New York. “My parents immigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and built a bustling grocery store in the Bronx,” the manager said. “We were among many families who ventured into a new country with hopes and dreams, mixing us all into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages and beautiful little neighborhoods. That’s what brought me to “Elemental”.

“Our story is based on the classic elements – fire, water, earth and air,” Sohn continued. “Some elements mix, others don’t. What if these elements were alive?

“You are human, aren’t you?” ” “Nope.” Film Movement has revealed the official US trailer for bad roads, a feature film based on a play originally presented in London at the Royal Court Theatre. It was also Ukraine’s submission to the 2022 Oscars, before the start of the current war. Four short stories take place along the dangerous roads of Donbass during the war. There are no safe spaces and no one can understand what is happening with all the uncertainty in the region. Even while trapped in the chaos, some manage to exert authority over others. But in this world, where tomorrow may never come, not everyone is helpless and miserable. Even the most innocent victims can have their turn to take care of… Zoya Baranovska, Maryna Klimova, Anna Zhuravska, Ihor Koltovsky& Andriy Lelyukh. It feels like an intense and very dark set of stories about the horror of war – hopefully that can make a difference.

Here is the official trailer (+ poster) of Natalya Vorozhbit bad roadsdirectly from FM’s YouTube:

Bad Roads Poster

Originally presented on stage at the Royal Court Theater in London and powerfully adapted by writer and director Natalya Vorozhbit, Bad Roads presents a series of tense vignettes, each built around a dangerous encounter on the back roads of the eastern Ukraine. Produced by Dmitriy Minzyanov and Yuriy Minzyanov. This premiered at the 2021 Venice Film Festival in the Critics’ Week sidebar, and it has played at many other festivals. After five years of growing success in the film and television industry, Lake Wales actor and screenwriter Jeff Herman will no doubt be there in person on Monday night for the release of his new feature film when it premieres at the Regal Eagle Ridge Cineplex at 7:00 p.m.

The film, titled “No Vacancy”, stars Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent on the Lois & Clark television series, as well as roles as host of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and the sports drama series “Hit the Floor.”

Herman starred as stalker and murderer Kenny in the Lake Wales Little Theater drama ‘The Assassin’s New Friend’ in March 2019, when he plotted against Brian, a true crime writer played by Robert Connors, with Holly Murren as the suspicious wife, Dana.

Since then, Herman has pursued an acting career and appeared in numerous commercials and short films. He also won Best Music, Best Genre and Best Picture for his original screenplay of “The Ranger,” a chilling short entered in the Orlando Independent Film Competition. Herman played the lead role in this production.

Jeff Herman appears in “No Vacancy” which premieres Monday night at the Eagle Ridge Cineplex at Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales.

“This role made me eligible for SAG,” Herman said, referring to the Screen Actors Guild. “I was working with Dean Cain, who is just a phenomenal person. He makes you feel like the most important person in the room and filming scenes with him was a great experience.”

Other cast members in the film include Sean Young, who appeared in “Blade Runner,” and TC Stallings, a former professional soccer player who appeared in 2015’s “War Room.”

The new feature film is called ‘No Vacancy’ and tells the true story of a Baptist church in Leesburg trying to buy an old hotel in order to provide housing for the homeless. Herman will play Gene Sanders, the chairman of a church finance committee who confronts the pastor, played by Cain, with the bad news that the church cannot afford the property.

The film is slated for a national release in 800 theaters via Disney/AMC, but a special premiere screening will take place Monday at local theaters only.

Over the past two weeks, about two dozen people have gathered in a remote cabin in the woods to make a movie together.

The scenic location, along the Shubenacadie River near Enfield, Nova Scotia, is the sole setting for the new feature film, Passers-by, should be ready for film festivals this fall.

It tells the story of six childhood friends who get together for their annual weekend. The reunion begins to fall apart when they learn that one of them is guilty of sexual assault.

Director Koumbie and her writing (and real-life) partner Taylor Olson, also a filmmaker, came up with the idea about six years ago.

“We at the time were having all these conversations about consent, and there were community members where things came out. It was like the community was kind of in shock,” Koumbie said. .

“And our thing was like no one was talking about it.”

The six-person cast is Taylor Olson, Marlee Sansom, Cavell Holland, Peter Sarty, Deborah Castrilli and Katelyn McCulloch. (Emma Smith/CBC)

A few months later, the Harvey Weinstein story broke and the whole world was talking about consent and perpetrator accountability.

The filmmakers wondered if there was still a reason to tell their story.

“It very quickly became clear that there were,” Koumbie said.

The storyline changed a lot over the next few years as the filmmaking duo decided to focus not so much on survivors and perpetrators, but on the community of people around them who have been affected by this type of violence. .

Bystanders is Nova Scotian director Koumbie’s feature debut. It tells the story of six friends who reunite and discover that one of them has a shocking secret. Mainstreet’s Emma Smith visited the set on Thursday and chatted with the director and cast. 8:34

Olson plays Justin in the film, the character who sexually assaulted his girlfriend when they were college students – but doesn’t even realize it.

“One of the things we want to explore in the film is what happens when someone you think is a great person – and in fact maybe most of the time – does something so monstrous,” Olson said.

Koumbie has won several awards for her short films, but Bystanders is the first feature film she has directed. (Emma Smith/CBC)

Actress Deborah Castrilli said the honest and tough conversations the characters have in the film continued even after Koumbie called the cut.

“Any work that we do, I think, as actors…changes us and changes us because it does, whether we like it or not, and it allows us to really reflect on our own lives and to be more empathetic,” Castrilli said.

There were also times on set where things got heavy and took their toll, actor Cavell Holland added.

“It’s not just a group of actors, it’s a group of friends, but it’s also a support system,” Holland said. “No matter what situations we were in, we all had each other’s backs. We all have that recording.”

This cabin by the Shubenacadie River serves as the setting for Bystanders. (Emma Smith/CBC)

The film is being made on a low budget – “a low budget halved”, in the words of producer Terry Greenlaw – so finding the perfect location was especially important.

“The inside/outside of this property is our only location, as the story is about a group of friends going to a cabin for a weekend,” Greenlaw said. “So the location is like a character.”

Koumbie has won several awards for his short films, but Passers-by is her first feature film.

“It’s really huge to me, and so every time it was like, you know, this low budget or low budget, I’m like, have you seen our crafting table? Like, it’s amazing,” she said.

Craft Recordings, Concord Originals and Marathan Films have announced the production of the documentary film-concert Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall, directed by two-time Grammy Award winner Bob Smeaton (The Beatles Anthology and Jimi Hendrix Band Of Gypsies) and narrated by Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges, who loves his iconic character “The Dude” in The Big Lebowski, is a fan of the group. The film features the ONLY complete concert footage from the original Creedence Clearwater Revival ever released.

The film is a Craft Recordings, Concord Originals and Marathan Films production and is produced by Sig Sigworth (REM by MTV), Jonathan Clyde (The Beatles: Get Back), Martin R. Smith (The Beatles: Sgt Pepper’s Musical Revolution) and John Beug (Running Down A Dream Tom Petty). Scott Pascucci of Concord (Martin Scorsese: Living In The Material World), Bob Valentine and Sophia Dilley (Billie) of Concord Original are executive producers. Wesley Adams, Charles Hopkins and Taylor Umphenour are the co-producers.

Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall takes the viewer on a journey from the band’s humble but formative years in El Cerrito, California to their meteoric rise in 1969 from top billing at Woodstock to the sale of the Oakland Coliseum before traveling through Europe and taking the stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Featuring a wealth of never-before-seen footage (including the concert itself), this film documents the history of Creedence Clearwater Revival up to the moment they leave the stage at the Royal Albert Hall as the biggest band in the world. Concert audio was mixed and restored from the original multitrack tapes by Grammy winners Giles Martin and Sam Okell (The Beatles: Get Back/Rocket Man).

Director Bob Smeaton recalls: “When I was a kid in the UK in the late 60s and early 70s, Creedence were a band I only really knew existed from their hit singles. . Therefore, making this film was an education for me, I got to see and hear why they are worthy of their status as one of the greatest bands of all time. I knew they were good, I didn’t know they were this good.

“Unveiling the power of Creedence at a high point in their career with these long-lost footage is extraordinary in itself,” Sigworth said. “For Jeff Bridges to tell us about this discovery is when pop culture collides with something bigger.”

Jeff Bridges said “What a band! I love listening to them, I love playing Fogerty tunes. These are definitely my favorites. Belief, yeah, man.

As 1969 drew to a close, Creedence Clearwater Revival challenged The Beatles for the title of world’s best-selling act, and John Fogerty became one of America’s most politically significant songwriters.

In April 1970, Creedence embarked on their first-ever European tour, where the band’s UK debut would take place at Britain’s most prestigious concert venue: London’s Royal Albert Hall. Just days after the Beatles broke up, the concert would go on to be one of the defining shows of their career. The concert was filmed, but never fully broadcast until now.

Years of research, discovery and restoration have gone into the project, including finding the original concert footage in a London vault that has been fully restored after 50 years in storage. The film also includes never-before-seen 16mm footage of the legendary performance, on-the-fly group interactions and interviews discovered in the Fantasy Records vault, as well as what is believed to be Creedence’s earliest known footage. live.

During their short time together as a band (1968 – 1972), Creedence Clearwater Revival enjoyed an unprecedented period of creativity – releasing seven studio albums (two of which went to No. 1), playing over 150 tour dates at around the world, including a headlining spot at Woodstock and scoring 14 Top Ten singles. A staple until today, Creedence has amassed 4 billion streams in 2021. Over the past 50+ years, the Creedence canon has become part of the Great American Songbook. Songs like “Bad Moon Rising”, “Down On The Corner”, “Fortunate Son”, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”, “Proud Mary”, “Born On The Bayou”, “Travelin’ Band” and “Up Around The Bend” have been ingrained in pop culture – not just as rock staples, but as timeless standards. With so many memorable compositions that continue to grace radio airwaves, TV and movie screens, and lyrics that still resonate today, Creedence Clearwater Revival is truly America’s greatest rock band.

Hollywood makes a Hot Wheels film. Yes, everyone’s favorite die-cast toy cars will star in a live-action movie. With the blessing of Mattel, Warner Bros. Pictures and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot will produce the film.

Robbie Brenner, Executive Producer, Mattel Films:

“As a global leader in automotive culture, Hot Wheels has ignited the spirit of challenger in automotive enthusiasts for generations. Fans of all ages are now ready for the ride of a lifetime with the incredible talent of JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot who joins us alongside Warner Bros. Pictures to turn the legendary Hot Wheels IP into a thrilling story for the big screen.

It is not the first time that the best selling cars in the world have made the leap from the living room floor to the screen. A single-season animated television series aired in 1969. Several films and animated shows feature the cars, primarily aimed at children via Saturday morning cartoons and streaming service films.

Longtime television and film writer attached

The announcement was short on the details of the plans for the film, but IMDb has writer Paul Attanasio attached as screenwriter. His other works include 2002’s The Sum of All Fears and 1994’s Quiz Show. He has also worked extensively on several television series. One of those series was Homicide: Life on the Streets, so could we be looking at some gritty Hot Wheels? Probably not.

Hannah Minghella, director of the film Bad Robot:

“Before Hot Wheels became the global name it is today, it was the dream of Elliot Handler, who invented and built miniature cars at home in his Southern California garage. this imagination, this passion and this risk-taking spirit that we want to capture in this film.

We’re big fans of the Hot Wheels expansion in Forza Horizon 3. It brought the orange and blue tracks, jumps, loops, and car launchers (along with a few more cars) to Xbox systems in 2017. Driving left us wanting more, but we’re not sure how it will the transition to a feature film.

Bad Robot has also produced the Cloverfield films, the Star Trek franchise since 2016, and the later Mission Impossible films. Although none of the company’s previous titles are toy adaptations, the production company showed that it could produce a good action film.

Massive Mattel Toy Movie Series Coming Soon

Whatever the result, it must be better than the Need of speed adaptation of the 2014 game, starring Aaron Paul. This must be true? As long as there are cool cars doing fun stunts, we’ll probably be sitting there happy with our popcorn.

Get ready for a load of others classic toy franchises made into movies. Mattel and Warner are also working on soon-to-be-released Barbie, along with Masters of the Universe, American Girl, Polly Pocket, and, wait, seriously? Uno, Magic 8 Ball and View Master.
