In the other categories, the trophy for best short film went to Succulent directed by Amrita Bagchi, with the jury declaring that the film “depicts a society of social distance – evoking both the manifestations of perverse hypercapitalism and the consequences of Corona Pandemic”. The documentary film award went to Writing with Fire by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh. Paka – River of Blood by Nithin Lukose won the “Director’s Vision Award”, which recognizes directors who demonstrate an exceptional political or social commitment with their cinematographic contribution.
Many of the films that screened at the festival were low-budget films made by directors from various parts of the country, which managed to get noticed at various festivals. Among others, Loop Lapeta, Jhund, Shankar’s Fairies, Dug Dug were some films screened at the festival among others.
